- http://www.npr.org/ National Public Radio (NPR). Listen to a live broadcast or prerecorded stories.
- http://www.kpcc.org/ Website of KPCC, my very favorite National Public Radio station. Lots of live or prerecorded listening from a radio station in Pasadena, California, in the Los Angeles area. (Many UCI teachers listen to this station in the car on the way to work!)
- http://www.storycorps.org/listen/podcast Story Corps on NPR. StoryCorps is a project that sends teams all over the US to record conversations between ordinary people. Family members or close friends interview each other, and you can hear many touching and heartfelt stories of ordinary people's lives.
- http://academicearth.org/ Academic Earth.org. "Thousands of video lectures from the world's top scholars" on all kinds of topics. This is great for some challenging but stimulating listening practice.
